Overview
The Ausangate 7 Lagoons Tour Cusco is a trek that begins in the small village of Pacchanta, located in the Cusco region of Peru. During the journey, you will have the opportunity to explore the foothills of the Ausangate mountain range, famous for its stunning mountain landscapes and traditional Andean culture.
Additionally, the trek includes a moderate hike to the 7 lagoons, allowing you to appreciate breathtaking views of turquoise lakes surrounded by snow-capped peaks. Additionally, during the main trek, you will pass through high mountain landscapes, glaciers, hot springs, and traditional Andean villages. This tour lasts for a full day, and is packed with enriching experiences. As part of the trip, participants will have the chance to enjoy local Peruvian food for breakfast and lunch to maintain energy for this magnificent journey!

Meeting Point
Pickup can be arranged from your accommodation and/or hotel, provided you are located in the historic center of the city. Alternatively, your party may opt to meet your guide in the Cusco Main Square by the central water fountain.
What To Bring
Personal Documents: Bring your passport and/or other form of identification. Also, make sure to have the necessary tickets or vouchers for the tour. If you have any questions about this, please ask your guide!
Money for All Occasions: (Preferably local currency – Peruvian Soles) Carry enough cash for entrance fees, snacks, and souvenirs. We want you to enjoy without worries, so have everything you need!
Camera, Light Clothing, Water Bottle, Sunscreen, Lightweight or Trekking Shoes, Sunglasses, Rain Covering (September-April is rainy season): It is important to be prepared for variations in weather. At high altitudes, sun protection is extremely important. Accordingly, be sure to bring a hat or cap. Also, bring layers so you’re able to adjust depending on the temperature, as it is quite hot during the day, and becomes quite cool in the evenings.
Tour Itinerary
- Puka Cocha: Also known as the Red Lagoon, this is one of the most impressive lakes on the tour. Its reddish color is unique, and is due to the presence of minerals in the water. The lake is surrounded by imposing snow-capped mountains and an impressive rock formation. It also has a small waterfall that feeds it, making it a perfect spot for photographs.
- Q’omercocha: This is the smallest lake on the tour. Despite its size, it is one of the most beautiful and is located in a quiet and secluded place. It is known for its light turquoise color and offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding region.
- Hatun Pukacocha: Next, we'll visit the largest lake on the tour. Known for its beautiful turquoise color, it is surrounded by impressive snow-capped mountains. It also offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding snow-capped peaks.
- Q’ayrawiri: Also known as the Sky Lake, this lagoon is located in a quiet and secluded place high in the mountains. It has a small waterfall that feeds it and offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding region.
- Ausangatecocha: This lake is known for its clear turquoise color and crystal-clear waters. Additionally, it is surrounded by impressive rock formations and offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding snow-capped peaks.
- Pucaqocha: More of a dark turquoise color with crystal-clear waters, this lagoon is also surrounded by impressive rock formations and offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding snow-capped peaks.
- Alqabqocha: Lastly, we will visit the furthest lake on the tour, which is located in a quiet and secluded place. It is known for its light turquoise color and offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding region.
- We will return to Cusco in an approximate 3-hour journey, concluding at your hotel.
- 7:00 P.M.: APPROXIMATE ARRIVAL IN CUSCO.

It is a great place to shop not too far from New York. We took the bus from Port Authority and traveled through the countryside to get there.
